What cladding materials and finishes do you offer?
Our standard cladding material is 16-gauge, 304 stainless steel with a #4 finish. This is our default specification unless another material or finish is requested.
We can also accommodate a variety of specialty materials and finishes, including colored stainless steel, bronze, vandal-resistant finishes, and more. Specialty options are reviewed on a project-by-project basis, so contact your FabACab representative if you have a specific material or finish in mind.
Do I need to complete a survey to get pricing?
Not for a budgetary estimate. We can provide preliminary pricing based on standard conditions to help with early project planning. For firm, project-specific pricing, complete a cladding survey so we can quote using your actual field measurements and conditions.
What are your cladding lead times, and can cladding ship separately from the cab interior?
When cladding is ordered with a cab interior, it typically ships on the same timeline as the interior. For cladding-only orders, our standard lead time is approximately 6–8 weeks.
If you need your cladding sooner than the cab interior, it can be shipped ahead of or separately from the interior. Additional shipping costs may apply, and timing will depend on the current cladding lead time. Contact your FabACab representative for current lead times and shipping options.
How accurate do my measurements need to be?
Accurate field measurements are critical for proper fit. Our fabricated cladding components are produced to a tolerance of ±1/16”, so customer-provided measurements should be as precise as possible.

Where do you install? What is your installation radius?
FabACab provides field measuring and installation services within a defined service area surrounding Central Indiana. See the installation-radius map on this page for current coverage.
If your project is near or just outside our standard service area, contact your FabACab representative. Depending on the project and location, we may still be able to assist.
Do I need to remove existing material before cladding is installed?
No. In most applications, our cladding is designed to be applied directly over the existing material, eliminating the need for removal.
Do you clad swing panels, COPs, and returns?
FabACab provides applied cladding panels for COPs and returns. We are unable to clad swing or mini-swing panels because of the operating clearance required for these panels to open and close properly.
If you’re unsure whether your existing configuration can be clad, send your project details to your FabACab representative for review.
Do you offer curved or bull-nose cladding?
We do not offer curved or bull-nose stainless-steel cladding. For these conditions, we can typically provide a clean, squared-off cladding solution instead. This approach also provides a more reliable solution for field measuring, fabrication, and installation.
Do you offer lobby-side and car-side cladding?
Yes. We offer both lobby-side and car-side cladding.
- Lobby side typically includes the header and jambs.
- Car side typically includes the transom, returns, and strike.
Components can vary depending on the entrance configuration. For example, a center-opening entrance typically has two returns and no strike. Your FabACab representative can help confirm the appropriate components for your specific configuration.
What other custom metal components can FabACab provide?
In addition to cladding, FabACab has an in-house custom metal shop that can fabricate cover plates, kick plates, toe guards, and other specialty metal components.
