What Kind of Materials Can My Customer Choose From?

Whether your customer wants a classic elevator design scheme that’s been time-tested or something a little more edgy and custom, FabACab can help you find the best match. We have different elevator cab materials and color options for all types of applications!

FabACab Elevator Interior Material Options

The tried and true material options for cab interiors are laminate and metal, and FabACab has access to a variety of setups for each category. For laminates, we often direct customers to durable and stylish Wilsonart and Formica Laminates. There’s even a custom resin material that customers can use for their new cab interiors. It’s called Lumicor, and works great because it’s both decorative and strong.

We also have a ton of options for metal and metal finishes for cab interiors. We typically work with Rigidized and Rimex Metals. The type of finish you select will be based on a variety of factors, but there are some general guidelines to follow. In particular, we want to help customers think through the type of maintenance that will be required and the amount of traffic that the cab will be seeing.

Going with a grain finish, like a No. 4 Finish, can be a smart choice. You see this material a lot in elevators, especially around the control pads and on the ceilings. It’s economic, plus, if it gets scratched, you can typically have it refinished as long as it’s not too deep.

If you’re anticipating lots of dings and bumps, you might consider a textured metal option. These are the best at hiding scratches, which can make your cabs last longer. They’re popular for apartment complexes and hospitals and other high-traffic buildings that need an elevator cab material that will hold up for a good amount of time.

Finally, some customers may want to use mirror in their elevators. This can be a fantastic design choice. But the weight and the price can be deterrents. One solution is to use stainless steel instead. We can help customers design elevator cabs with a No. 8 Mirror Finish to get the look they want at the right price point. Most of our stainless steel products are made in-house, which helps us offer high-quality products at lower costs overall.
